May 2015

From the Office:

BKR Family Law is hosting another CIACP basic collaborative training: attorneys, mental health and financial professionals are welcome! The training is on May 12th and 13th, from 8:30am-4:30 both days.

This year’s 2015 Family Law Spring Conference (American Bar Association) was in Carlsbad, CA, May 6th-9th. There was a great offering of 26 CLE sessions, along with some fun opportunities to enjoy the magnificent ocean views. Melissa Avery, Erin Durnell, Nissa Ricafort and Amanda Blystone attended the meeting.

Melissa Avery also was a speaker at the ABA’s spring conference and presented “Custody Hot Tips.” She shared tips on how to prepare and negotiate difficult custody/parenting time cases.

The Hamilton County Bar Association will host the All Bar After Hours with Indiana Supreme Justice Mark Massa on May 20th, from 5-7pm at the Bridgewater Club.

On A Personal Note:

The Indianapolis Mini Marathon is the largest half marathon in the U.S. and this year, it was held on May 2nd. Nissa Ricafort, along with her husband, Mike, ran their 5th race together and both managed to cross the finish line with a smile on their faces!
